Tania Steyn
I’ve spent more than 15 years in digital marketing, with my career shaped by the travel and tourism industry. My journey began with an MCom in Tourism Management from the University of Pretoria, and over the years I’ve built experience across content creation, photography, design, and websites — all tools to help brands tell their stories.
In 2012, I took the leap into freelancing, starting with Franschhoek Wine Valley as a long-standing client. Since then, I’ve collaborated with safari lodges, conservation organisations, and travel companies across Africa. From promoting the Southern Camps of Laba Laba in Tanzania, to designing itineraries for Nature Connexion, managing newsletters for Compass Odyssey, and creating social media for Shumbalala Game Lodge and UmnDeni Africa — each project has deepened my passion for clear, creative communication.
Today, my work has become more focused. Through my company, I help businesses in three key ways:
Design – Marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and reports that look polished and professional.
Content – Blog posts and website copy that connect with audiences and build trust.
Email Marketing – Beautifully designed newsletters and campaigns with meaningful content.
Living in Hoedspruit, at the edge of the Greater Kruger, I also find inspiration in the African wilderness. This flows into Tania Steyn Designs, where I create surface pattern designs that capture the essence of nature and adventure — an extension of my creative work that brings African-inspired stories into everyday spaces.
Outside of work, I’m often on the trails, behind a camera, or planning my next adventure. One highlight was a Cape to Cairo motorbike trip with my husband on a 200cc Chinese bike — three months, eleven countries, and endless stories.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: that design and storytelling can inspire, connect, and help people share their unique journeys with the world.
I would love to hear from you. Please contact me if you would like to work with me.
